Shungite

Holding nearly all of the elements of the periodic table, this rare and very special mineral is said to be the highest naturally existing source of C60 fullerenes in the world. Harbouring up to 98% Carbon content, Elite Shungite makes up only 1% of all Shungite deposits in Russia, making it extremely rare!

Elite Shungite contains antioxidants and naturally existing C60 fullerenes which is what makes it so special (please see scientist, Regina Martino’s work and read her book dedicated to the collated evidence of Shungite and Elite Shungite for more information here). Fullerenes were discovered in 1985 by a team of scientists and were awarded a Nobel Prize in 1996 for their findings on fullerenes and their properties. The fullerenes in Shungite are cells that act as a magnet to toxins, free radicals, heavy metals, etc, breaking down the cell walls and neutralising them.

According to the scientific studies that are compiled in scientist Regina Martino’s book “Shungite. Protection, Healing and Detoxification”, Elite Shungite has amazing healing properties including effects that may be anti-aging, anti-viral, anti-bacterial, anti-inflammatory, and anti-carcinogenic.

Elite Shungite offers protection from EMF as well as from negative energy and entities as it creates a shield around the body’s energetic aura. It can be more of an energetic Crystal so if you are sensitive to these energies, it might be advised to use it during the day. For EMF protection in the bedroom, you can use spherical shapes coupled with Selenite to help emit more relaxing energy in spaces where you sleep or rest.

All genuine Shungite is found in Karelia, Russia, and is a powerful mineral that has been used in many different healing modalities outside of Western medicine. There are 3 different types of Shungite on the market, although Elite Shungite is the rarest form.

Here is a breakdown of the different kinds of Shungite:

1) Elite Shungite (sometimes called Noble Shungite)

This type of Shungite contains 90-98% Carbon and most of the elements of the periodic table. It is silvery in appearance and found in only 1% of all Shungite deposits, making this mineral very rare and usually sold by the gram. The larger the piece of Elite Shungite, the rarer it is and therefore more expensive per gram. Elite Shungite is very brittle and therefore can’t be shaped, however, it is the only type that may be used if you are opting to use it for water filtration and purification. This is because it contains a very high concentration of C60 fullerenes which transfer into the water when soaked, and the other types of Shungite have impurities and other inclusions such as Pyrite which are toxic if ingested and should not go in water.

2) Standard / Regular Black Shungite

Most shaped Shungite is made from this material which consists of 25-50% Carbon. This form of Shungite is the easiest type to shape and polish as the other types, particularly Elite, are far too brittle and will break upon polishing. Standard Shungite cannot be used in water purification as it has other inclusions that cannot go into the water, or be ingested such as Pyrite. Standard Shungite is best suited for personal healing work on the body, gridding the home, and EMF protection.

The Standard Shungite shapes that we sell are quite black in colour, even in their raw form, and therefore have a higher Carbon content.

We realise that much Shungite information states there are 3 types of Shungite however with our direct dealings with Russia, they have informed us that there are really only 2 types which is what our experience has also been, and why we are covering only these 2 types.

Making an Elite Shungite elixir enables the C60 fullerenes to transfer into the water. Only the water may then be ingested, never ingesting the physical Shungite itself.

You will need at least 10% Elite Shungite to water ratio and we leave ours to soak in the water for 24 hours for maximum benefit.

Here is a step by step process of how we make our own elixirs:

1. Rinse Elite Shungite in filtered water and charge outside in sunlight for one day.

2. Place the Elite Shungite at the bottom of the water jug, ceramic urn, drink bottle, or drink bottle chamber making sure to use filtered water only.

3. Let the water sit and charge with the Elite Shungite inside for ideally 24 hours for maximum benefit.

Bioenergist and geobiologist, Regina Martino mentions that Elite Shungite water can have a slightly acidic pH, and therefore suggests balancing this water out separately with an intake of high alkaline water. We found her book helpful when learning about Shungite.
